Lightweight...
By reducing the weight and pack size of all MONTANE® clothing to the lowest achievable levels,the outdoor experience is enhanced. Less energy is wasted carrying your clothing and more space is available for other essential items like food or equipment.

...and Breathable
In all active-use outdoor situations the essential requirement of comfortable clothing is to prevent the weather entering your clothing system and at the same time allow your sweat and excess body heat to easily escape.

Environmental issues...
Every day we all become more and more aware of the environmental threats facing the outdoor environments we love so much. We know that our industry, which demands both mineral and energy resources, is contributing to environmental pollution, and we are determined to minimise or indeed reverse our impact over time.

We know we cannot solve the global problems single handed, but we can play our own part, and encourage awareness and action from our suppliers and customers alike.

We have always advocated lighter weight,simpler garments,which are intrinsically less resource intensive than other clothing. We have only ever supported and encouraged sports which in themselves do not pollute, and in so doing we have encouraged greater environmental awareness and appreciation. We were one of the first companies to stop producing a paper consumer catalouge, requiring instead of our customers to refer to the low-impact on-line catalouge.

But, notwithstanding all this, as our understanding of the factors influencing climate change grows we realise this is not enough.
